The Danish company Dantherm Power has established itself as a strong “First Mover” in the field of hydrogen and fuel cell technology. Dantherm Power sold their first hydrogen and fuel cell based emergency power backup units on commercial terms as early as 2006.
“We deliver fuel cell solutions as commercially viable alternatives to traditional solutions,” says Per Albæk, CEO Dantherm Power. “Fuel Cells are not a technology of the future,it is already here. We expect solutions based on fuel cell technology will become a major part of our everyday life.”
Dantherm Power has already won contracts to supply emergency power supply systems in North America and Denmark. In Denmark a Dantherm Power solution has been chosen for the new national emergency and security TETRA network, SINE, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2009.
The fuel cell based power backup solutions provide an uninterrupted power supply in caseof grid power failure. The fuel cell technology is extremely environment friendly and emits NO exhaust gasses such as CO2 and NOX.
The Canadian energy company, BC Hydro, has selected a Dantherm Power Solution to balance the power supply from hydroelectric power plants in remote areas.
The newly established Dantherm Power Inc. in the United States is targeting telecom and broadband operators in North America.
Dantherm Power is developing and now demonstrating highly efficient micro combined heat and power systems (mCHP) for residential use. The mCHP systems are running on hydrogen or natural gas and can be connected to existing natural gas and electrical grid.
“We believe the fuel cell technology is one of the most obvious solutions for CO2-neutral energy conversion. Right here. Right now, says Per Albæk, CEO Dantherm Power.
